The Event Calendar\u2019s Product Marketing Manager, Jaime Marchwinski, on continued learning, her passion for marketing, and what keeps her motivated.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI really like launching latest initiatives. After I became the Product Marketing Manager for The Events Calendar, I redid all of our email automation. I really like being an element of the shopper journey from the moment they start interacting with our plugins.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Originally from Long Island, Latest York, Jaime Marchwinski grew up within the suburbs.<\/strong> It was there that she met the person she would later marry. \u201cI actually met my husband in highschool,\u201d she says, \u201cbut we were just friends. Or not less than that\u2019s what I assumed!\u201d He asked her to prom, and he or she said no. \u201cI went with another person, and he didn\u2019t go in any respect. I hadn\u2019t heard from him for seven years, and we began dating immediately. At the very least we have now an excellent story to inform our children!\u201d<\/p>\n

Marchwinski moved to Latest York City for school. While there, she fell in love with town and lived in a lot of its boroughs for fifteen years. She recently moved to Latest Paltz, Latest York<\/strong>, where she enjoys long runs within the mountains near her house and spending time together with her kids and husband.<\/p>\n

Though she had a previous profession as a pastry chef, Marchwinski has worked in tech for seven years.<\/strong> \u201cAfter my first daughter was born, I used to be seeking to transition into something I could do remotely,\u201d she says. \u201cI began taking some coding boot camps and worked as a contract website manager and developer for some time. From there, I got a contract job as a technical support representative. After that, I got here to The Events Calendar and worked in technical support for nearly three years before transitioning into marketing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, Marchwinski works because the Product Marketing Manager for The Events Calendar<\/strong>, creating the entire marketing materials for product releases, from blog posts to Knowledgebase articles to landing pages. She also posts to our social media networks and recently launched a non-public Facebook Group for The Events Calendar users. \u201cI also arrange and host our monthly webinars and send out all our email communications. There are such a lot of facets to marketing and what my role entails. I\u2019m probably forgetting something!\u201d<\/p>\n

The pace of a profession in tech appeals to Marchwinski.<\/strong> \u201cI really like that things are all the time changing,\u201d she says. \u201cLatest products and updates come out, firms are all the time changing, and no two days are the identical. It keeps things interesting!\u201d<\/p>\n

However it\u2019s the shopper experience that makes the role rewarding for Marchwinski. \u201cI really like launching latest initiatives,\u201d she says. \u201cAfter I became the Product Marketing Manager for The Events Calendar, I redid all of our email automation. I really like being an element of the shopper journey from the moment they start interacting with our plugins.\u201d<\/strong> She also launched an exit intent popup, encouraging users to enter their email addresses before leaving our site. \u201cIt garnered far more leads than I expected!\u201d<\/p>\n

Marchwinski says the entire leaders at The Events Calendar and StellarWP have been extremely encouraging throughout the years to assist her move up in her profession and find the opportunities that suit her.<\/p>\n

Of her working style, Marchwinski says she works early and sometimes.<\/strong> \u201cI like to begin work early within the morning before distractions come into my day. Then I actually have time to give attention to meetings and other things later,\u201d she says. She feels lucky to have a profession she finds invigorating. \u201cFind something you\u2019re obsessed with and never stop learning. We spend a lot of our lives at work, so we would as well find something we’re obsessed with.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Marchwinski, her biggest motivation is being an excellent role model for her children. \u201cI would like my girls to see what it\u2019s prefer to be a mom who also has a passion and a profession,\u201d she says. And, for her, being an excellent role model means continuing to learn and grow. \u201cThere’s a never-ending amount of the way to proceed learning. I take heed to marketing podcasts, subscribe to newsletters, and devour as much details about my field as possible. Never let it feel stale, and also you\u2019ll proceed to be excited on your work.\u201d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Marchwinski encourages women with an interest in technology to pursue their interests.<\/strong> \u201cTech is something that can all the time be around and evolving and growing. You will discover your area of interest here, and there\u2019s a lot flexibility in how you’ll be able to work,\u201d she says. \u201cFind your area of interest. Find what you\u2019re obsessed with within the tech industry and learn every part about that area of interest.
