Every month, we bring you the UK\u2019s least expensive supermarket, in response to consumer website Which?. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month, we revealed the most cost effective supermarket for July 2023 was Aldi for the 14th month running, while the most cost effective supermarket when <\/span>discount stores like Aldi and Lidl were excluded was Asda.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This month we’re back, bringing you the most cost effective place to purchase groceries in August 2023.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And the winner is\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Aldi!<\/span>\u00a0Aldi tops the most cost effective supermarket list for the fifteenth month in a row.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every month, the evaluation by Which? compares the costs of a basket of 37 popular grocery items at eight of the UK\u2019s biggest supermarkets.\u00a0<\/span>The outcomes showed that the basket of 37 goods from Aldi cost \u00a365.21, on average, across the month. Lidl wasn\u2019t too far behind, with a price difference of \u00a31.32 (\u00a366.53).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Waitrose was the most-expensive supermarket, coming in at a median of \u00a379.51 over the month \u2013 or \u00a314.30 greater than Aldi.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A big trolley of 133 items was also compared. This stuff consisted of the unique 37 products, plus 96 other items. This evaluation excluded Aldi and Lidl, nevertheless, as they don’t sell the complete range of things included \u2013 similar to branded items.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
