Overall, I even have an ideal mixture of qualities which have helped me achieve success as a support technician.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Alissa Castillo was born and raised in Apple Valley, California<\/strong> and enjoyed growing up within the High Desert, living near her grandparents. In highschool, she was a shy student desirous about computers and loved art classes. When she was 19, Castillo\u2019s family moved to Texas within the Dallas-Fort Value Metroplex. She lived there for 11 years before moving to North Alabama in 2009, where she now lives together with her husband and two daughters and enjoys spending time together with her family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Castillo\u2019s journey in tech began when she began working in hosting in 2009 upon moving to Alabama.<\/strong> \u201cWhile I had gone to highschool for Graphic Design, there weren\u2019t any jobs of that type on this area on the time,\u201d she says. \u201cA member of the family told me a few job opening for technical support at a neighborhood hosting company. I didn\u2019t know anything about what goes on behind the scenes with hosting, but I\u2019m thankful they took a likelihood on me, because of my previous customer support experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Castillo found that <strong>she loved the extent of support she could offer customers, being awarded Tech of the Yr<\/strong>. \u201cThat was definitely unforgettable and considered one of my favorite memories,\u201d she says. She continued working for a similar company until they were acquired by Liquid Web in 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now at Liquid Web, Castillo works as Support Technician III within the Managed Apps Support department<\/strong>, providing technical support to clients. She loves the energy of working on this planet of tech. \u201cDay by day, I see something latest,\u201d she says. \u201cThis keeps things difficult, and it inspires me to need to learn more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Growing up, Castillo looked as much as her mother<\/strong>, who worked on the local telephone company. \u201cOn the weekends, she would sometimes bring me along when she needed to stop by the office, and I just loved that everybody had their very own cubicle. I dreamed of working in a spot like that (which had cubicles). Sadly, I\u2019ve never had my very own cubicle, as at my previous company we had an open desk work area. And now with working remotely, I\u2019m at home,\u201d she says. \u201cNevertheless, it definitely has its blessings with getting more time to see my family. Now I get to see my daughters right after work as a substitute of spending that point commuting.\u201d Castillo decorates her desk with things she loves, just like the Minions and Baby Yoda, for a blissful environment.<\/p>\n<p>Castillo says she feels lucky to be a quick learner in a field that genuinely interests her. \u201cI\u2019m also probably the most technically-inclined person in my family as I\u2019m the one who everyone involves after they have an issue about anything electronic, putting together furniture, etc,\u201d she says. <strong>\u201cBeing very empathetic naturally, I feel, has also helped me with providing good customer support<\/strong> and wanting to be certain our customers are taken care of. Overall, I even have an ideal mixture of qualities which have helped me achieve success as a support technician.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supporting customers is a major motivator for Castillo. \u201cThere\u2019s a certain sense of accomplishment once I\u2019m in a position to resolve a problem that at first seemed inconceivable to repair,\u201d she says. <strong>\u201cI like with the ability to use different tools to research or once I can learn something latest to assist find the reply.<\/strong> I\u2019ve also found a passion for helping and training others when possible. I like to share what I\u2019ve learned and help make things easier to grasp.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Castillo is confident that ladies have a shiny future in technology.<\/strong> \u201cA lot of our each day lives rely upon and utilize technology, so lots more women must have those forms of jobs high on their list of what field they need to work in in comparison with once I was in highschool,\u201d she says. \u201cI used to be just telling considered one of my daughters the opposite day that should you like video games a lot, why not turn into a coder and learn learn how to make them?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>For girls just starting in tech or desirous about the industry, Castillo advises finding a selected field or topic of interest, then learning all you&#8217;ll be able to.<\/strong> \u201cStudy it and rejoice!
