I often have a laundry list of things I would like or must work on. Occasionally there\u2019s the \u2018fire\u2019 that requires me to place all the pieces aside, which is stressful, but so rewarding\u2014especially when the issue might be identified and glued quickly.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nick Cappelletti\u2019s first job, mowing lawns, stays certainly one of his favorite jobs he\u2019s ever had. \u201cI spent the summers outside,\u201d he says, \u201cand worked with friends I knew from school.\u201d <strong>Cappelletti grew up in DeWitt, Michigan, where he still lives, staying near home apart from the 12 months he spent overseas as a Marine.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Cappelletti began at Liquid Web in November 2006.<\/strong> He began in Support and was there for about eight months before moving to Security, where he worked for a couple of 12 months. As Liquid Web grew, the corporate needed more people in Networking. He has been working for Liquid Web as a Network Engineer and Software Developer ever since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The early days of Liquid Web were often stressful, Cappelletti recalls. <strong>\u201cOn the time, there have been only about 15 individuals who worked here, they usually were all very technical,\u201d he says.<\/strong> \u201cI got here to Liquid Web with development and sysadmin experience, but I didn\u2019t know the systems at Liquid Web, so the knowledge gap between me and the others was intimidating.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Though those early days might be trying, Cappelletti remembers fondly the after-work outings the then-small team would take.<\/strong> \u201cWe&#8217;d bar hop in a limo. All of us \u2014 well, most of us\u2026 someone needed to work \u2014 would pile right into a limo and go from bar to bar. And our Friday meetings we might have with food provided from the corporate was all the time enjoyable,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe scope of tech that I\u2019m acquainted with hasn\u2019t modified all that much through the years,\u201d Cappelletti says. \u201cI began at Liquid Web as a tech, working on servers, moved to Networking, working on routers and switches, but now develop totally on servers to automate the network gear. <strong>The largest change I\u2019ve noticed is the dimensions of connections we&#8217;ve to the Web.<\/strong> We began with a number of 1G connections, moved to an OC-48 (about 2.5G), then to 10G, and now we\u2019re deploying 100G connections.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>What keeps Cappelletti going are the each day challenges\u2014especially with developing and coding.<\/strong> \u201cI benefit from the challenge that working at Liquid Web offers,\u201d he says. \u201cI often have a laundry list of things I would like or must work on. Occasionally there\u2019s the \u2018fire\u2019 that requires me to place all the pieces aside, which is stressful, but so rewarding\u2014especially when the issue might be identified and glued quickly.\u201d <strong>Cappelletti also loves the soundness that his profession at Liquid Web has provided.<\/strong> \u201cMy family motivates me. Providing a snug, secure home is very important to me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cappelletti primarily works remotely but occasionally heads into the office to attach with people. <strong>\u201cI enjoy, immensely, working from home,\u201d he says.<\/strong> \u201cWorking 7 \u2013 3, I might need to get up my kids early and take them somewhere in order that they could then wait to get on the bus. Now, they&#8217;ll sleep in, take their time, and I can see them off to highschool. As much as I enjoy seeing people at work, I discovered people coming to my desk distracting, especially once I was in the course of coding. Now, it\u2019s just my dog and me.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>For Cappelletti, a favourite office memory is the primary holiday season he worked at Liquid Web.<\/strong> \u201cWe were all given gifts. One person was given a small remote-controlled helicopter that he decided to fly right above my head while I used to be on a call with a customer. It was so loud the shopper asked if I used to be mowing the lawn. I ended up grabbing the helicopter mid-air.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Outside of labor, Cappelletti enjoys exercising<\/strong>\u2014specifically lifting weights, Taekwondo, running, or biking. \u201cI\u2019ve done dozens of half marathons.
