Here we go again.<\/p>\n
As presidential hopefuls equivalent to Ron DeSantis, and the previous president Donald Trump officially announce their bids for the presidency in 2024 we now have already entered the dark zone of constant personal criticism and attacks. For the following 18 months, social media users are going to be ranting about candidates and policies.<\/p>\n
Next week, will you join the fray? In line with rumors, former Vice President Mike Pence is planning on announcing his candidacy for president next week. He’ll break from Trump\u2019s alliance and run independently.<\/p>\n
Almost as reliably because the social media clashes we are able to expect over Ron DeSantis and President Trump in the approaching months, and with predictable salaciousness, there\u2019s already a gentle stream of insults appearing on Twitter regarding Pence.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s just a number of of the initial tweets causing Pence to trend on Twitter immediately:<\/p>\n
Those are literally just the very first tweets in my stream. The tweets kept coming, but just about all of them identified flaws within the campaign that hasn\u2019t began. Most of them will not be that funny and include some insider commentary, like this one: \u201cThe fly that landed on Mike Pence throughout the 2020 VP Debate has as much likelihood of being President as Pence.\u201d<\/p>\n
The sarcasm and jabs that were hurled at one another throughout the past two presidential elections got to me, particularly since neither side could remain civil. Recent years have seen a mix of the slow economy, pandemics, racism, far-right sentiment and pure hatred take over social networks at every opportunity. I used to be glad when the election season finally got here to an end and I didn\u2019t need to scroll past all the barbs.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s now suddenly starting all once more, as if the trolls were living in a cave all of this time waiting to re-emerge into the sunshine and begin swinging their club again.<\/p>\n
What can possibly be done to assist?<\/p>\n
It’s my hope that we now have moved far enough from the pandemic, and things are going to be a bit more subdued. No less than there won\u2019t be all of the constant misinformation on social networks or links with questionable sources promoting news stories. We are able to only dream.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m sure seeing Pence trend on Twitter is a sign there’s a number of pent-up rage and emotion. Perhaps the secret’s to maintain your eyes turned away as much as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
