Why did you join Liquid Web?
When my wife got a job 2.5 hours away from where we had lived for a decade, I had to begin frantically trying to find a brand new job. After some encouragement from her and others, I began applying for jobs at different tech corporations — something I had dreamed of for some time. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, but here I’m!
What draws you to the hosting industry as a profession?
Working on this industry gives you a glance behind the scenes that you just don’t get even at other tech corporations. It’s pretty cool to work somewhere that builds the inspiration for the interwebs!
Is there something specific about Liquid Web you only love?
I like how close-knit the teams are. Because we’re so small on the staff side, we get to know one another pretty much. This offers us the chance to learn easy methods to work best together as a team.
What’s your favorite part concerning the company culture at Liquid Web?
I’m an enormous fan of the culture around collaboration that we now have. Anyone from any discipline may give input, and that helps us create a greater result.
What’s the largest milestone you’ve achieved?
Breaking out of the university environment (particularly athletics) to maneuver into the private sector was an accomplishment I’m pleased with. Often, when you’ve began in that sphere, you stay there eternally, so with the ability to move past it felt great.
What are you known for at Liquid Web? What do people specifically come to you for?
Anyone who’s worked with me knows that I’m heavily focused on design—even beyond marketing—so my guess could be that.
What’s one thing you want our customers knew about their hosting?
Many individuals are working hard to make sure the whole lot works well and provides our customers an incredible experience.
Work aside, what are a few of your hobbies?
I like the outside — specifically the mountains — so I’m an enormous fan of mountain climbing, trail running, and snowboarding (though I don’t get to do it anywhere near enough). I also love D&D, reading (mostly sci-fi and fantasy), and video games.
What’s your favorite TV show?
Probably Scream, from MTV
What’s your favorite app?
Things by Cultured Code
In case you could have dinner with one star [dead or alive], who would it not be?
Nick Offerman, no doubt.
We hope you enjoyed our series, and stay tuned for the following Helpful Human profile.
