Meet Jeffrey Shall

In 2007, Jeffrey Shall spent 6 months traveling around the globe. Flying out from Recent York, he began his trip in Sweden, then went to Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, and at last Austria. He had previously met some folks from Australia who stated if he made it on the market, they’d help him out. He spent 2 months with their family and had a terrific time. After leaving Europe, Shall ended up in Thailand, where he spent a few month.

Shall states this trip opened his eyes to what the remainder of the world was like in some respects, and he feels that the experience helps him relate to people in his job, even years later. Now, as a Support Technician for Liquid Web, Shall meets with clients from all around the world to assist them with their hosting needs.

Why did you join Liquid Web?

Lots of my friends worked at Liquid Web, including my wife, Ginger Shall, so it just gave the look of the appropriate fit for me as well. Most of my friends who worked at Liquid Web prior to my joining at all times talked about how they loved the work and the way it was a fun community to be an element of. After some convincing, I left my other job and joined Liquid Web. As of this yr, I even have been working here for eight, wonderful years.

What draws you to the hosting industry as a profession?

Before I got here to Liquid Web, I used to be working in medical billing and on the lookout for a change. I had at all times desired to be in IT, and this was a terrific option to get that profession began. Is there something specific about Liquid Web you only love?

In your eyes, what’s the difference between Liquid Web and other employers?

My coworkers are what I like essentially the most at Liquid Web. I even have grow to be great friends with the third shift team that I even have been working with for years. I appreciate how laid back everyone seems to be, and it’s a terrific work environment.

Tell us about a tremendous customer experience you could have had at Liquid Web.

I even have a number of customers that decision in during my shift because they just like the service I provide, and we have now wonderful conversations while I’m working on their server. Serving customers is greater than providing solutions to their problems; it’s about providing an exceptional experience that makes them never wish to host anywhere else.

What are you known for at Liquid Web? What do people specifically come to you for?

I attempt to help out as much as I can. I’m consistently within the Liquid Web Help Channel to help other technicians with difficult customer issues they’re diagnosing and have volunteered prior to now to assist with phone training. I also take day out of my day to help recent hires once they need assistance.

What’s one thing you would like our customers knew about their hosting?

Customers have to sustain on software updates. Checking your website and operating system for updates and checking on plugin versions for those using WordPress are all essential to keeping vulnerability points on your system in check. As a managed hosting provider, we help with all of those tasks.

Work aside, what are a few of your hobbies?

I like cooking. I attempt to make elaborate meals to share with my wife and am at all times on the lookout for recent recipes. I recently made a Szechuan Stir Fry using traditional ingredients and created my very own sauces for it from scratch. It turned out amazing.

What’s your favorite TV show?

I watch many things on Hulu and Netflix. Specifically, I loved Game of Thrones (though they shouldn’t have rushed the ending). I also love One Punch Man, because it doesn’t take itself too seriously.

What’s your favorite app?

Reddit—for the comments, after all!

When you could have dinner with one superstar [dead or alive] who would it not be?

Edgar Allen Poe. I like his writings, and I feel he would make interesting conversation. The Raven was considered one of the primary poems of his I read, and I did a speech on it at school.
